Rathlin Gold
/Golden Ale
3.8% ABV
Rathlin Gold is named after the golden hares on Rathlin Island, offshore from Ballycastle. The hares have evolved, because of their isolation on the island, to have a sandy coloured coat unlike hares anywhere else.
We brewed a 3.8% pale ale with a heritage malt, Chevallier, which gives a little more sweetness than usual. Using Bramling Cross and East Kent Goldings hops we have a pale that is quite honey like, and also herbal, floral and earthy. We think its a great tribute to yon hare.
